ESCAPE FOR 15 DAYS INTO THE SAHARA
Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech, Morocco and spend the first night in hotel. In the evening you will hides about the next 14 days
of your Camel Trek into the Sahara called the Great Mehari.
Day 2 : Transfer to Ouarzazate through Tizi N'Tichka pass ( see villages of Targua and Ikiss) by Land Rover to Tazarine where we
meet up with our camels and drivers. For the rest of your stay
in the Sahara your camel will be with you, either carrying or
being your transport. So a "test day",
to put onto practice the driving rules which will be given to
you by the drivers. First night under canvas .
Days 3 - 11
Our trek requires careful preparation, after
which we will set off with the heavily loaded caravan .The ten
days trek, will take us to the high dunes of the Er Chebbi,
passing through the villages of Tarbalte and Oum Jrane, to the
great plains along the sandy Wad Bou Khechba and then on to
the Ziz river .
Finally we turn north towards the Erg Chebbi dunes to strike camp for the last time in the Sahara.
Day 12: Taking the Land Rovers, we head west exploring the Ksours of Tafilalet to the south of Rissani. Then onto Tineghir and the Todra Gorges. Bivouac in the gorges .
Day 13
We set off back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and Tichka passing the villages of Targua and Ikiss. We will visit on our way, the two most beautiful ksars of Morocco: Ait Ben Haddou, the backdrop to such movies as Lawrence of Arabia and Romancing the Stone.
Then on and Telouet, the former Palace of Pasha El Glaoui, Berber Chieftain before arriving in Marrakech and the night in a 4* hotel...
Day 14 : A day to visit the city of Marrakech, especially the legendary Jamâa El Fna Square. Night in hotel.
Day 15 : Transfer to the airport .
