If you are driving, touring, cycling or just going for a walk down the west coast of France, and need a stop over for a few days in the village of Grayan and Hopital, here could be a great option! Camping des Familles a good choice just south of the Royan / Verdon ferry crossing.
Make your way south from the ferry for 18km, down the D1215, turn off into the forest and after a few km you will find the campsite hidden in the trees. the reception is open every day from April to the end of October, and now has new owners ( and a new website) so things should be a bit easier for bookings .. ( have a look at the link at the bottom of the page.)
Grayan and Hopital with its beautiful 7 km sand beach in the form of a small bay is a must. If you are looking for surf, here a great place for a holiday, still with room to place your towel after a session. If you need a break from the Ocean, then a trip east to visit the vineyards is easily on offer as you are at the start / finish (which ever way you look at it) of the "route des vins".
You maybe looking to buy a mobil-home and rent a plot on this coast. The campsite has openned up this year to long term leasing, but you will have to move fast as it's a small campsite with only 100 plots.
