    TOUR

    Out and about by foot in the old town. Nice built between beach and mountain with its colourful history, including a few changes in sovereignty over the years (Savoie, Italia & Franco) is one of the major tourist attractions on the south coast of France.

    The tramway network of Nice Cote d'Azur is currently composed of two lines with more under construction. It's ideal for the airport run using the "Tram & Fly" and seems to be the only solution to avoid traffic jams and the taxi bill from the center of town.

    Fontaine du Soleil. One of the main monuments of Nice, a magnificent work of art made from marble and bronze and above all a good story surrounding it after its creation by Alfred Janniot.

    Socca from Nice The best advice to try Socca is to head off to the "Vieux Nice" and find Chez Theresa. Otherwise if you want to have a go at cooking your own, you will need in the mixing bowl;
    500 ml cold water,
    150 g chickpea flour (gram flour),
    4 soup spoons of olive oil and salt.
    First beat briskly to remove lumps before straining through a sieve. Spread the mix evenly (2-3mm thick) on a preheated metal pizza plate. Preheat your oven to 280c. Leave to cook in the oven until the mix is brown.

    Le cours Saleya and the Flower Market Smells, colours and flavours: this market is a marvel and surely one of the more picturesque markets of France. Discover it by chance you either hate it or fall in love with it; a market to spend some time and enjoy when visiting Nice. Flowers, fruits, vegetables, honey, olives and lavender; the Provence at the end of your nose! Make your way forwards by scents and colors in a picturesque surrounding.

    The Blue Chairs on the Promenade des Anglais : These chairs are a symbol of Nice, before you could find a blue chair anywhere along the 7 km's of the Promenade des Anglais and place it where you wanted. . A few years ago the city hall changed the rules by bolting them to the asphalt and grouping them together in rows of over 15 chairs. (So now it's back to school and you just have to sit where you are told to!). And why the International Klein Blue . . ? Respect to the 1950's French artist Yves Klein who developed the blue for his monochrome art.

    Looking to do a bit of sport.. yes the Promenade des Anglais is a fantastic location to go for a run, otherwise take the car to Auron for a day and enjoy the high altitude pastures.
